Get Qualified as an EHP

Environmental Health Practitioners work in a variety of areas including food control, private sector housing, environmental protection, public health and health and safety. To get qualified as an Environmental Health Officer in Ireland you'll need either a BSc in Environmental Health (Level 8) from TU Dublin, click here for more information on the course.

Alternatively an equivalent qualification from another country which has been validated by the Department of Health is also acceptable. Further information on the validation process can be found here.

The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) in the UK and Environmental Health Association of Ireland have an agreement to mutually recognise Environmental Health graduates from Ireland and the UK.
