Environmental Health Service and COVID

The COVID crisis which has swept the world has impacted absolutely every aspect of our society and our private and professional lives. Public services throughout the world have been lauded for their response to the crisis and the Irish Environmental Health service has deftly reconfigured to play a key role in a range of COVID 19 activities. Some of the main activities undertaken include

  1. Conducting contact tracing activities. This has been an integral activity in countries that have successfully limited the spread of COVID
  2. Advisory role both landside and airside at Dublin and Cork airports and other airports as required
  3. Providing support in manning the dedicated HSE COVID advice line
  4. Providing assistance and guidance on the change of use of hotels to isolation facilities
  5. Advice and guidance to essential food businesses to ensure they can operate safely
  6. Continuing to provide a regular service as required and maintain general business continuity

All of us in the EHAI are very proud of the contribution of our members and colleagues in these exceptional times. We send them and all citizens our very best wishes and urge them to stay safe
